The Assistant Director of Safety for Basic Warfighting Skills Division manages the Safety Program for Basic Warfighting Skills Training including tactical flight operations and low level navigation. He is directly responsible to the Director of Safety for instilling safety awareness in all division employees and ensuring that the work force has a safe and healthy working environment. Using the Army’s model for composite risk management, he performs continuous trend analysis to identify areas of interest and recommended courses of action. He is the safety subject matter expert and advises and assists the Division Director in all matters concerning the safety of division personnel, property and equipment.
Mr. Thomas has been with the flight training contract for over 8 years and is a former Army rotary wing aviator, Instructor Pilot, Standardization Instructor Pilot, Research Pilot and Aviation Safety Officer with 40 years and 6,000 hours of fight training and safety management.
