The Director of Safety oversees the continuing development and execution of the company’s aviation and ground safety programs. He is directly responsible to the Program Manager for insuring the work force has safe and healthy working conditions. Focusing on proactive accident prevention and espousing the company’s safety credo “that nothing we do is worth an accident”, he guides the safety staff through the development of effective risk assessment planning and risk management execution.

Mr. Smith has been with the flight training contract for 9 years holding various positions of increasing responsibility culminating as Director of Safety. He is a retired Master Army Aviator with over 30 years active military service. He has served as an Installation Aviation Standardization Officer, Standardization Instructor Pilot, Night Vision Devices Instructor Pilot and Aviation Safety Officer. He has over 40 years and 6,000 hours of experience in aviation and safety management.
