Director, Advanced Division - James J. Justice

The Director of the Advanced Division oversees the training of 8 flights of Initial Entry Rotary Wing (IERW) for instrument flight qualification with an annual student population of approximately 1200. Additionally, he provides oversight of graduate flight programs consisting of the Rotary Wing Instrument Flight Examiner’s Course, the Rotary Wing Instrument Course and the Advanced IFR Training Course.

Major James J. Justice, USMC (Ret) served over 22 years in the United States Marine Corps.  A "Mustang Marine", he served both as an enlisted Marine and a Commissioned Officer.  With over 3500 hours of accident and incident-free flight hours, in both fixed and rotary-wing aircraft, he flew combat tours in Desert Shield / Desert Storm, ship-board operations on the USS Tarawa and Belleau Wood, Somalia, and Counter-Drug Operations in Colombia, South America, flying both the UH-1N "Huey" and the AH-1W "Super Cobra" attack helicopter. 

Mr. Justice's aviation career spans almost 25 years, and he has been with the IERW training contract for 9 years.  He holds a Masters Degree in Military Operational Art and Science, and is a Certified Flight Instructor and Certified Flight Instructor-Instruments (CFI / CFI-I).  He is also a "Knight of the Knife" -graduate of the U.S. Army Rotary Wing Instrument Flight Examiner's Course.
